ON YOUR SYNTH

Replaces the unsaved current sound. No program slot is overwritten.

How it works & keyboard shortcuts

Device shows the 500 program slots. Read all 500 slots using “Read all patches” in Device. Drag a row to arrange programs. “Save Backup” downloads all previously read device patches with their slot numbers, without pending arrangement changes. Use “Read all patches” first for a complete, up-to-date backup. Amber rows are unsaved changes. “Save device changes” backs up every affected slot, checks that the synth still matches the last read, writes the new arrangement and verifies each slot. If a transfer stops, already verified slots stay saved; the remaining rows stay marked. Do not change programs or parameters on the synth during transfers.

Local is your browser collection. Import, rename, duplicate, delete, arrange and export as before. Copy a selected Device patch to Local with “Copy to Local”. Files from the previous version remain in Local.

Current slot: after connecting, select its number and press “Load slot”, or double-click a Device row. This also selects that program on the synth. The current slot cannot be inferred from a plain patch dump. Received Bank Select / Program Change messages update the displayed slot when its bank is known. Re-select the slot after changing MIDI ports or channels.

Sending: select a row and press ⌘+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows), or use its send button. The sound goes straight to the current edit buffer, without a confirmation dialog. The permanent program remains unchanged until you press “Save current patch”. Sending another sound or loading a different slot replaces unsaved buffer edits immediately. “Save current patch” reads the current buffer, backs up the destination, writes it and verifies the result. Saving the current patch also updates its Device row, replacing any pending arrangement change for that slot. Other pending slots stay unchanged.

Keyboard: click either list, then use ↑/↓ to move the highlight. Shortcuts do not run while typing into a field. A Device row selection alone does not switch the physical program; double-click or Load slot to do that.

Snapshots and Local patches are stored in this browser. Save regular backups. Custom oscillators, effects and tuning tables are not included in patch exports. The new transfer workflows are tested with simulated MIDI, not physical hardware. Icons: Bootstrap Icons, MIT license.
